“ There's a reason Toasty's has won best burger in Louisville three years in a row! Hands down the BEST burger I have ever had! Service and atmosphere were great. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! ”
“ Toasty's has a cute interior that compels conversations. The bar is prettier than I expected and the glasses for water stood out to me. The burger was as great as I expected. This is a juicy smash burger with great flavor throughout. What really hit the nail on the head was the hot dog. Now something so simple should not have the power this hot dog has. The crispy bun edges and hot dog edges made it feel like I was at a 2000s cookout. I would like 14 of em everyday. Now my only downside is that the fries taste sweet? Adding ketchup made them taste sweeter? I am trying to determine if I dislike them or not, but I will be back for that hot dog. ”
“ I have been to Toasty's several times because it is close to our house, so this is a review that encompasses different occasions. I've had some 3 star experiences, one 5 star meal, but mostly pretty good which is why I'm giving Toasty's 4 stars. The place is usually packed and the indoor space is fairly tight, so be prepared to wait during peak times. There is a good sized bar and a long table against the back wall, so you might get lucky with seating if you're a party of one or two. The servers are pretty attentive, and because it is so crowded, service is quick in general. Toasty's has a lot of cocktail options, plenty of beer/seltzers, and soda/NA choices as well. As for food, many (including me) venture out here to try their well regarded smash burgers. Many of my friends have gushed about these. My wife, who hates burgers and has a gluten allergy, even loves their cheeseburgers. As for me - I prefer a hearty burger patty you'll get at a typical bar and grill. While I enjoy the burger at Toasty's just fine (McToasty is the best I've had), I make a point to try other things on the menu. I loved their chicken sandwich when I had it a few months back. Their grilled cheese with a meat patty is also very good. I recently ordered their grilled chicken wrap (which was okay) and a side of bacon (which was cold). Toasty's fries are also pretty tasty, and they actually serve you a good amount. A group I went with recently all tried Toasty's for the first time, and enjoyed the cheeseburger and fries. If you want to go somewhere to hang out with a group of friends for a couple of hours, this may not be the place for you. But if you're on a date or with a group of four for a meal, this is a good spot. They do have a heated patio, but a plastic cover can only do so much in 15 degree weather. If you're curious to try Toasty's, I recommend coming down to Shelby Park to check it out. ”
“ This review was specifically for our carry out experience. We ordered the food and it was ready in about 10-15 minutes. The staff was friendly, and it was super easy to get our order. We ordered two of their burger, and fries. Their burgers were delicious, I wish it had more topping/ condiment options but for a regular burger it was probably one of the better ones I've had in a while. And that's saying quite a bit because I do love me a good burger. The fries were a bit of a miss for me, but that's mostly because I don't like the cinnamon sugar or just sugar that's put on fries. I noticed that a lot of places in the area did that so perhaps it's just a southern thing. But nonetheless we had a great experience and I recommend everyone try their burgers! .) ”
“ Tried Toasty's for the first time and loved it. The inside isn't super large but there is an outdoor area with a deck. We were seated pretty quickly since we were able to pick the table where we wanted to sit. The menu is pretty simple which makes it easy to choose. My son and I shared a large basket of seasoned fries and both ordered sandwiches which were amazing. So good. My other son ordered the cheeseburger which he really liked. My son liked the chicken sandwich so much that he ordered another one. We will def be going back. ”
“ While visiting Louisville for a music festival, I was determined to find a hidden gem and locals spot that was away from the touristy areas, that offered authentic, delicious food with amazing flavor. Toasty's Tavern was Just what I was looking for! Easily one of the best smash burgers I've ever had, hands down!! The atmosphere here was super inviting and they had a wonderful outdoor patio with lots of seating, as well as an indoor section with a long bar. This was a total neighborhood spot where you can tell locals hang out to grab a burger, beer and hang out. The service was also top notch; even for being extremely busy at the time we visited, our server was super attentive and friendly! I would highly suggest Toasty's Tavern as a must-visit spot if you're looking for a delicious smash burger with a laid back, authentic Louisville vibe! ”
“ This was my first time here. We sat outside. I think the restaurant is a renovated house. We got the portobello fried mushroom appetizer. It was really good. It tasted like you were eating steak. I got the double cheeseburger and it was great. If you have ever been on a carnival cruise lines it resembled a guy fieri burger. My son added bacon and hashbrowns to his burger. Really good burger. ”
“ We stopped in here for a Tuesday evening dinner and found a parking spot right out front. Large outdoor patio area, but we decided to go inside since it had just rained. Inside was fairly busy with an eclectic crowd of patrons who appeared to be neighbors within walking distance and also those of us who made this a destination spot. Waitstaff were all so very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We felt like we were regulars and immediately very comfortable. I started with a Shannon and the Dude Hazelnut Brown beer (YUM!) and my kid (almost 30, so not really a kid!) had an old fashioned cocktail. My beer was fabulous and the beer list is great. My son told me his cocktail was one of the better ones he has had, not sickly sweet. He asked our waitress to pass the compliment on to the bartender, who visited our table and said "thanks!" They apparently make their own syrups and mixers from scratch -- no premade bottled stuff. We ordered the mushroom (portabella) plank appetizer and then smashed burgers and a shared sizeable basket of fries with Magic Dust. The Magic Dust was SO good that we bought a container to take home to put on potatoes, popcorn, and the glass rims for our Bloody Mary cocktails -- WOW!!! We both commented that the burgers were reminiscent of a classic diner burger with the lacy crispy edges. The fries were addictive. Putting this place on my shortlist for a re-visit. ”
“ Toasty's! Such a Louisville favorite! And now I understand why. I got lunch here with a friend earlier this month. We got a table outside on their shaded patio, and our servers were friendly and helpful. And I got the dish I hear about most for Toasty's: the cheeseburger. This is made with a smashed patty, griddled onions, iceberg lettuce, American cheese, Pop's Pickles and Toasty's Sauce. Everything on this burger worked so well together. The burger was juicy. The toppings brought out complimenting flavors. The bun was perfectly soft. I also loved the fries that it came with! Toasty's also has a great drinks list. I'm excited to go back and enjoy perhaps a weekend night on the patio. ”
“ Well aren't you just adorable. Located in a quaint brick building on Shelby Street, Toasty's is exactly what one would expect for an authentic neighborhood tavern bursting with personality. We sat outside because lovely. The staff was incredibly personable - ensuring we were aware of the specials and various swag items that accompanied them. My dining companions very much enjoyed the paloma special (as well as their shirts and hats!). Vegan fish and chips - legit. The vegan fish cutlets are flaky on the inside, with delightful, just crunchy breading on the outside, and super delicious. The house fries are thin, crispy, and sprinkled with magic dust (which can be purchased for home use). This dish comes with vegan poblano tarter sauce which elevates it several notches further. Although the vegan options are limited, for those without nutrition restrictions and who are looking to explore, the menu at large is pretty extensive, and the drink specials definitely are worth a second (or third, or fourth) visit. ”
